Consulting

Most of what I know is on this site for free. If reading it has not settled your problem, I take a small number of paid engagements.

Consultation

$400

30 minutes, one problem

You send me the problem in writing first. If I think I can help, I send a scheduling link and an invoice. If I do not, I say so, and that costs nothing.

Most of these resolve in the first ten minutes or use the full thirty. If we are close at the end I do not watch the clock. If half an hour on a call has not settled it, more call time rarely will, and that is usually a case for the second option.

Diagnostic log analysis

$750

first hour, then $750/hour by prior agreement

Send me a sysdiagnose. The first hour is a triage, and it always produces something: what the logs actually show, whether the answer is in there at all, and what further work would cost. Nothing beyond that hour happens until you approve it in writing.

Some problems surface in twenty minutes. Some take five hours or more. You will never receive an invoice you did not agree to in advance.

A sysdiagnose contains substantial device, network and account detail. I work from it locally, destroy it within 30 days of finishing, and I will sign whatever your legal team requires before you send anything.

What I do not take

If your question is a general one about an Apple framework, ask it publicly on the Apple Developer Forums. You will often get a good answer for free.

REPLACE@EXAMPLE.COM

Describe the problem, what you have already tried, and what you are seeing. Specifics get a faster and more useful reply than a request for a call.
